The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions for the community.

SASSA might be rendering solutions which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency explained it's alarmed regarding the high amount of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some significant number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no completely functional office devoted to service the area every day. The provider issue developed for intervention activities a superior influx of prospective beneficiaries, that makes it complicated for the office to attend website to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra resources to permit the servicing of all consumers and improve usage of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
